08-06-01 - Wut up.  I was just inspired to write this page, so you had better like it or else!  :)

These are the techy gadgets that everyone should have because they really do make things easier.

  1. Everybody needs a PDA (personal digital assistant).  I've decided that PocketPCs are too expensive (at least $450), whereas you can get a Palm M100 for about $130.  It'll do your calendar, address book, to-do list, and take notes - which is all of the essentials - and it's stylin'!  There are plenty of other Palms to choose from, here's the whole family.  Sure, that Compaq iPaq is still da bomb - beautiful color screen, MP3 playback, etc.  Half a grand though?!
  2. Everybody needs a digital camera.  Forget film!  Take as many pictures as you want and don't sweat developing costs and all that crap.  My Pictures > Albums Section is a testament to how great these things are.  A 16MB memory card will get me over 400 pictures at lower resolutions.  Plenty of room to get pictures of every single relative at the next family picnic.  :)
  3. Everybody needs a geek like Ed to tell them what they should spend their money on!  HahAhAAHahAhaHAHA!
  4. Everybody needs a Macintosh computer because they kick butt!  The new Titainium Powerbook (that's a laptop folks) is the greatest electronic invention of the decade.  One inch thin, DVD, and a W I D E  S C R E E N display that'll blow your mind.  iMacs are still the most stylish PC out there, and OS X (their latest operating system) really kicks but, even though it's still pretty fresh.
  5. Everybody needs a PVR!  PVR stands for Personal Video Recorder.  It works just like your VCR, just minus those @%#$&* tapes - it uses a hard drive.  You can turn your home PC into a PVR with some hardware & software, or you can buy a specialized unit.  Microsoft makes a device called UltimateTV (it really is...) but it's 1) made by Microsoft 2) damn expensive and 3) you have to pay monthly fees for the TV listing service, which I think is the dumbest thing on Earth.  I would honestly love to strangle the shit out of the person who made that decision. </pissed-offness>  Click that UltimateTV link up there and go watch the demo, you gotta see what this puppy can do!

That's it for now folks.  As a geek, this is my most humble and honest opinion, everyone could use this stuff.  Very useful and very cool.  :)  We're the digital generation, just get used to it.
