??-??-?? - Jim sent me some words about government and politics, so here it is.

Just a few words about politics and government since I am currently involved in that profession. Take what you want from this and use it for your section. We have a very screwed up government which we do have 2 people who we must choose from. However these two people must endure through attending the top schools in the country and must avoid fucking up so great as to loose their chance to become elected. They must also win over the support of some of the top business owners in the country in order to be funded. This is in itself a test that has such great parameters that we end up with 2 people who are very fucking competent. Even though choices are limited to the common man, there is a criteria these two must meet to get there. Can you imagine appearing on CNN and the news every single day for the next 4 to 8 years of your life. That would not be very easy. Can you imagine those bad days you have when you just want to speak out and these presidents do and have always kept cool under the most extreme pressure one can imagine. This is why even though it is a bit strange our system does work. And just think in how many countries even if not perfect do you have the freedoms we Have. When looked at from a micro level there is many flaws, but the macro analysis of our government says that we have our shit together.
