09:24 - Yo YO YO. Yo. Yo yo, yo. Yo y-yo-y-yo.
Top of the mornin' to ya. I finished that book yesterday which my
sister gave me called "PREY" by Michael Crichton. Good stuff.
A little over the top towards the end, but still cool SCIFI stuff you
know I love. It was about a swarm of nano-sized robots, developed
under a military contract, that could act together as a big camera.
That was their main purpose. But, they get out of control, learn
too much, and then things get interesting. I won't spoil it.
We won our softball game last night. I went 2-3.
I've finally found my swing from the old day in baseball when I'd get
good hits. It's not about swinging the bat as hard as you can,
it's about creating the bat speed and good contact that does the work
for you. :) Preacher Ed, at it again.
We're all excited about this weekend because it's campin'
time. We're going to this place down near Columbus for a weekend
of fun in the sun, rain, or whatever mother nature throws at us.
Just came across this article about a tool I use to help
block SPAM in Outlook. It's called
CloudMark, and it's worked
phenomenally for me so far. Well, now
they want to
charge $3.99/month. ...just watch the user count drop.
lol Nobody will pay for this stuff, except maybe a few big
corporate accounts, but that's it. I just found another freebie
that helps fight spam, so I guess I'll have to check that out once I get
a notice asking me to pay for CloudMark.
Here's the alternative - called
SpamBayes,
it's based on a statistical inference theorem developed by a man born
300 years ago named Thomas Bayes. You can grab the file to install
on your Windows computer from
here (here's
the site for the guy who put the installer file together). I've
installed it and "trained" it and I think It's slick - I dig it.
There's a guy who does a lot of columns for different
publications. He has a web site with a main story, called The
Pulpit, which always has a good look in to a specific subject. I
forget what
this
one was, but it's worth readin'. lol
Scientists are now saying that
chimpanzees should be
included in the human genus. A quote from the top of the
article:
The idea, sure to spark renewed debate about evolution and the
relationship between humans and animals, comes from a team led by Morris
Goodman at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.
"The relationship between humans and animals" IS THAT WE ARE ANIMALS.
It's proof based on the fact that we deny that we are mammals, animals,
evolved on this wonderful planet and closely related to a "lower life
form", the chimps.
Time to read some LOTR (Lord of the Rings). I've got the entire
trilogy in one book and I'm workin' on the final part right now. I
purchased this book during our trip to Cali and just never gave it any
time after we'd returned. Time to get this one checked off the
to-do list.
