12:38a - For the second time in the history of the game, the Major League Baseball All-Star game ended in a tie.  Pretty silly.  The managers didn't want to push their pitchers beyond the normal inning or two.  :(  The fans boo'ed like crazy.

Ha!  No MVP either.  How stupid.

Today is Wednesday, so tonight is bike night.  Schweet!  I don't know if the weather is going to hold up, we shall see.  I hate worrying about rain, but I don't want to get my bike all crapped up.  It's nice keeping it pristine.  Gary, Nate, JC, and I went riding for a bit today.  I hit 140 on 303.  Fun.

Night night.

Image: Yucca Workers8:53a - Here's some big news.  Ever heard of Yucca Mountain?  It's a government site 90 miles northwest of Las Vegas that is supposed to become the nuclear waste dump site for our nation.  Nevada isn't happy about this, and neither are a lot of senators.  It's a pretty messy situation considering the need to keep this radioactive material in a safe place vs. the trouble and danger of transporting it from all over the nation to this one spot, as well as the danger of having all our eggs in one basket.  I'll be following this story for sure.  Read more at MSNBC.

Here's another good one.  I've blabbed about WiFi aka 802.11b wireless networks before.  I've got one setup in my house, and I've installed probably 5 in other businesses and homes.  Instead of having to plug your computer in to a CAT-5 cable to access the network, you just add a wireless network card to you laptop are desktop and forget about the wire.  It's awesome.

A very popular thing these days is for people to setup a wireless network and share their broadband connection to the 'Net with anyone within range.  I talked to Brecksville city hall about doing this in downtown Bville, but they haven't gotten back to me - go figure.  Well, now the service providers such as AT&T and Time Warner Cable are sending letters to users telling them that if they don't stop sharing the Internet access, their accounts will be shut off.  This is just another example of how businesses want to control their products and services completely, even after the point of sale.  I think it's ridiculous.

If I'm away from my house and I want access the 'Net, you're telling me there's a problem with me connecting through someone else's Internet pipe.  Yeah-frickin'-right!  Read "Cable Firms Cracking Down on WiFi".

I've got a 10am appointment, so it's time to get dressed and prepared.  Speak at ya'll soon...

PS. - See the pics of me on the front page?  LOL  I like my new hair cut, Rick Jr is such a pimp.

2:47p - Yo.  Gettin' closer to bike time.  I've tried callin' my bike list and I haven't had much luck.  Great, rollin' in w/Nebawho and the gold-diggers.  LOL  I'll get pictures.  ;)

I did a silly animated picture on the front page.  I connected my Nikon 990 to a little TV set I had laying around.  It's got audio/video in/out.  It's fun seeing me on the TV screen.

NEWS

One of the guys who helped invent Gnutella has reportedly blown Kan appears in this 2000 file photo taken at Gnutella's engineering center in his home.his own head off.  I wouldn't doubt this to be a case of the record industries taking out some frustration on us damn, young, new-thinkin' generation.  They don't like people messing with their lucrative stranglehold on musicians.  READ  (You might have to have a free subscription to NYTimes.com to access that article.)  CNN has something on it too.  Waldorf just IMed me while I was adding this.  :)

photoSo there's this skeleton.  And it's like 6-7 million years old.  And they say it's one of our relatives.  Look at those eyebrows.  Sweet.

This is interesting:

Chadian authorities are nicknaming the specimen "Toumai," a name usually given to babies born before the dry season in the region. Toumai means "hope of life" in the Goran language. The discoveries are detailed in this week's edition of Nature magazine.

http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/space/07/10/shuttle.cracks.ap/index.html

The crew that is currently aboard the space station might be there a long time.  All of NASA's shuttles are currently on the disabled list.   Cracks have recently been discovered in the tubes that deliver fuel to the rocket engines.  The final shuttle was just inspected and found to have the same cracks as the rest.

Also, some company called Copeland Manufacturing Corp. is being fined $320,000 for lying about repairs made parts for US spy planes and space station equipment.  Oh, that's just great.  The government is getting ripped off by the companies it trusts to handle thing with that importance level.  Our economy does suck.  :(  Read.

I'm out.  Gotta get my bike, clean her, finally got you some pictures, and head to bike night!

Woopee-doo,

Jr.
