4:28p -
Hi. Didn't get much done today, I hate when I do that. Last
night the soccer team I'm on lost for the first time, so that sucked.
The other team was really good with their fundamentals, making runs for
passes, etc. They got a bunch of easy goals because we just
weren't on top of things. It happens.
I just got an e-mail from Holly with one of those sappy poem things,
but it's pretty good. Supposedly from a yougn girl in the
hospital, but I never believe that stuff anymore. Here it is:
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say, "hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
OK, let's everyone do
a big "Awwwwww!" Enough.
Tonight has some
promise. Julie has an open house, but that never turns in to
anything exciting 'cause she won't party there. Chybo says there's
a playmate audition at Shooters... so that definitely has some
potential. I also talked to Sammy, he's on his way home from
Columbus - so we might just get jiggy in his basement since it is the
bomb-diggidy. We shall see. If you want to join us, just hit
up my celly and we'll figure things out, coo?
IN THE NEWS
Enron
One of the top guys at Enron removed
himself from the living this morning with a gunshot to his head. I
can't blame him for that considering everything that's going on with
Enron at the moment. Can you believe people are stupid enough to
try and pull this crap?
I was reading the other day how America
Online was thinking about maybe purchasing Red Hat - now that would be
awesome. I think a lot of die-hard Linux geeks out there would
flip their wigs, just 'cause of all the companies, AOL?! The
newbie's online service. But, past that, the implications are
great. As we all know, AOL is the master of distributing software.
They must ship 2 billion CDs a month to every person alive. Even
current members get constantly bombarded with new discs. I can't
stand when I go to their web site and a window pops up "Get 1000 Hours
Free!" I'M ALREADY A STINKING MEMBER! LEAVE ME ALONE!
That really bugs me, but I will live. :)
AOL filed a lawsuit against Microsoft on
behalf it's subsidiary Netscape. If the courts have found
Microsoft guilty of monopolistic actions, Netscape sure is one of the
companies that has been hurt. At the beginning of the web
revolution, Netscape had over 90% share of the browser market.
Once Billy Gates caught on and started his drive to rule everything
relating to the web, Internet Explorer was easy to forced upon everyone.
Most people didn't really care though, it was just the web browser they
used and it worked so who cares. Well, Netscape cares.
7:29 - Yo. The Chybonator
just left to go find his wallet that he lost for the 3rd time this week.
I'm about to shower up and head out to do something, don't know what
yet.
Have a great weekend
peeps!
