Back to Diary Home

Off to Buffalo for a wedding with Lindsey.   We left at 9 on Saturday morning for the 3 1/2 hour drive.  Lindsey and I were in one car with her sister Heather and her boyfriend Paul.  We stopped at Jonathan's family restaurant on the way there for breakfast.  (Picture soon to come!)  When we got to the Holiday Inn we were informed that we couldn't get in to our rooms until 2PM.   This caused some tempers to flair since we were supposed to be at the wedding at 3PM and you know how girls need time to get ready.  We ended up leaving and looking for another place to stay, but after seeing the EconoLodge we felt the Holiday Inn would be worth the wait.  :)  We went back and sat in the lobby making as much noise as possible until 2 o'clock, at which they still only had one of our rooms ready.  We managed to get everyone dressed and out the door in time so I guess I shouldn't complain.   The wedding was OK.  I tried getting everyone drinks but they carded me!   I handed him my ID and after looking at it for a minute he said "You're not old enough."  I said "OK" and walked away with my tail between my legs, feeling quite the idiot.  I was like, "Um, this is a wedding!  Since when do you care if the kids have a little to drink?"  Of course I didn't really say that and since I don't drink I didn't really care, but I felt bad for those of us who did want to get inebriated.  O'well!  Right after the ceremony we went outside so they could hop in their horse carriage for the ride to the reception hall and it started to thunder and rain for a bit but passed pretty quick.  At the reception After the reception we headed back to the hotel and basically crashed because nobody felt like staying up.  I think we got up around 9 the next morning and headed out the breakfast at Perkin's.  (Bottomless glasses of milk, oh yeah!)  From there we dropped some relative back off at the hotel and departed.  The car rides were pretty nice thanks to a great tape made by Lindsey.  We probably listened to it about 4 or 5 times!  I drove the second half of the way back and my left arm is really red because I had it out the window the whole time not realizing that the sun was baking it.  I have a really nice farmer's tan on my one arm now.  :)  Sunday graced us with perfect weather and we headed to the park after we got back for some rollerblading and later a little cookout at Lindsey's house.  All in all it was a really nice weekend.
